This session will explore the role of technological advancements in agriculture and their influence on farm health and safety. We welcome farmers, farm families, agricultural service providers, and anyone invested in the well-being of rural communities to join us for this important conversation.

Our Panelists
Dr. Aaron Yoder grew up in central Pennsylvania where he spent time working on his grandfather’s beef farm. He has a BS and MS from Pennsylvania State University in Agricultural Systems Management and a PhD from Purdue University in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. He currently is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental, Agricultural, and Occupational Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Extension, and works with projects through the NIOSH-funded Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America.
Erik Merrell is passionate about health and safety in rural communities. As a paramedic, he has first-hand knowledge of both the health-related benefits and risks of the increased presence of mechanized equipment in ag spaces. Erik is an Agricultural Safety Educator at NYCAMH, putting that first-hand knowledge to good use as an expert trainer.
