On the same day the Centers for Disease Control announced that fully vaccinated adults 65 and older are 94% less likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19, our center staff set up its fifth pop-up vaccine clinic in the past two weeks. The “clinic” was a small outbuilding on a crop farm in New York’s Mohawk Valley. Farm owners and employees lined up from multiple area farms to receive their first COVID-19 vaccination. The vaccine clinics are part of a program we are piloting with the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) to bring COVID-19 vaccinations to workers in the essential industry of agriculture at a time when field work is ramping up and work days begin to lengthen.
